JUNIOR GOLF
2011
Clinics will be conducted the first two weeks: June 7 – June 10 (Tues.-Fri.)
June 14 – June 17 (Tues. – Fri.)
Age group 10 and under will report to the Pro Shop at 9:00 a.m. for check-in. The participants are divided into groups and rotate to different stations: chipping, putting and the driving range. Because of the large number of children, we will be utilizing both driving range tees. Golf carts ferry golfers to the south practice tee.
Don’t worry if your child must miss a portion of the clinics. We understand that summer camps, family vacations, and other activities will cause some scheduling conflicts. The instruction is designed to offer them repeat opportunity to learn, allowing them to progress at their own pace. The clinics are one hour, so please pick up your child at 10:00.
Age group 11 and over will report to the Pro Shop at 10:00 a.m. for check-in. The same information as above applies. In the case of siblings, if you need to drop your older child at 9:00, please instruct them to wait on the deck or in the restaurant. If there is room on the driving range or putting range, they may practice, however, they must understand that the attention of the staff will be on the younger kids. We want everyone to have a good time, but safety is our main concern. Please pick your child up at 11:00.
The following weeks we will have play dates on Tuesdays: June 21 – July 19, excluding the week of July 5th because of the holiday.
9 and 18 hole players walk the holes and will be assigned tee times in the Pro Shop. It is their responsibility to call and get their tee time the day prior to play. There will be an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start for all 3 and 5 hole players. Please remember that if your child is in the 3 hole or 5 hole group, they are allowed to place their golf bags on a cart and ride from TEE to TEE. They walk the hole (fairway to green). We require an adult to drive each cart and help keep score. We’ll have a sign-up sheet for volunteers at registration, first day of clinics where you pick up your child’s Jr. Golf shirt and cap. It should not be necessary for you to drive your child each play date if everyone takes a turn. You DO NOT have to be an experienced player to help! We’ll provide instruction. Please mark your calendar for the Jr. Golf Tournament to be held on July 19th. More details will be forthcoming.
